The first edition of the land art project was performed in Manndalen, Norway in 2008. Marita Isobel Solberg is the founder of Gallery Fjærstein.
Land art is an art form that is created in nature and uses natural materials such as soil, rock , organic media and water with introduced materials such as concrete, metal, asphalt and mineral pigments. Sculptures are not placed in the landscape; the landscape is the means of their creation. The works frequently exist in the open, located well away from civilization. They are left to change and erode under natural conditions. A beach with old and new boat houses, is the location for the project, the place is one of the oldest settlements in Manndalen.
